An expert workshop on protected areas in the context of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has taken place in Curitiba, Brazil.
The third Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP/MOP-3) has ended with agreement on detailed documentation requirements for living modified organisms for food, feed, or processing (LMO-FFPs), as set out in Article 18.2(a) of the Protocol.
In a meeting held from 30 January to 1 February 2006, in Paris, France, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre considered actions to support implementation of the CBD work programme on protected areas in natural World Heritage sites.
Meetings to consider biodiversity loss have been briefed on the need to increase efforts to address the problem.
