25 July 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) has announced that the report of the mission to Ramsar Site Doñana, in Spain, carried out on 20-22 January 2011, is now available in Spanish. The mission was conducted together with the World Heritage Centre 0f the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), acting as the advisor for natural sites.

World Bank Approves GEF Project on REDD+ in the Congo Basin [viewed]

World Bank14 July 2011: The World Bank approved a US$13 million project from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to strengthen the capacities of the Congo Basin countries on issues related to REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stock) and forest carbon stocks measurements.
