UNFCCC Publishes Workshop's Report on Ecosystem-Based Approaches [viewed]

UNFCCC10 May 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a report on the technical workshop on ecosystem-based approaches for adaptation to climate change (FCC/SBSTA/2013/2), which was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 21-23 March 2013. The workshop sought to enhance parties' and expert organizations' understanding of ecosystem-based approaches for adaptation, share best practices and lessons learned, and identify areas for further work.

European Commission Adopts Green Infrastructure Strategy [viewed]

UNCCD Fact Sheet Highlights Relationship of Migratory Species and Drylands [viewed]

UNCCD logo7 May 2013: As a contribution to the 2013 World Migratory Bird Day (11-12 May), the sixth issue of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) thematic fact sheet series focuses on migratory species and desertification. The publication notes the efforts of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) and the UNCCD to conserve migratory wildlife and to improve the conditions of ecosystems that support such species and are affected by land degradation.

UNFCCC Publishes Views on REDD+ [viewed]

UNFCCC26 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a compilation of 11 views presented by parties (FCCC/SB/2013/MISC.3) on issues related to activities described in paragraph 70 of decision 1/CP.16 (Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries- REDD+). Three submissions from NGOs were posted on the UNFCCC website.
