The 2012 annual meeting of the Inter-Agency Support Group on Indigenous Peoples' Issues will address, among other issues, the Group's responses to current and previous recommendations of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues to the Group and the UN system; opportunities for inter-agency collaboration and possible strategic directions; and implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including through the UN Development Group and its guidelines on programming at the country level on indigenous issues.

2 August 2012: The UN Indigenous Peoples Partnership (UNIPP) has made available its five-year program framework, titled “United Nations Indigenous Peoples Partnership: Strategic Framework 2011-2015," which outlines UNIPP's thematic areas of focus for the realization of indigenous peoples' rights. It has also published a brochure describing the genesis, governance and guiding principles of UNIPP and its Multi-Partner Trust Fund.

Organized by the UN annually since 2008, the Global South-South Development Expo provides a forum to enable developing countries and their development partners, including donor agencies, organizations of the UN system, and private-sector and civil society organizations, to showcase their evidence-based South-South development solutions. Solution forums include social protection and decent work, food security, climate change and environment, HIV/AIDS, global health, and education. This third GSSD Expo will focus on enhancing the strategic capacity of developing countries in research and technology development, and will develop inter-regional partnerships in each of its core topic areas.
