25 February 2011: In preparation for the sixth session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM 6), to be held from 14-18 March 2011, in Rome, Italy, the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) has released the tentative schedule of side events and the list of posters to be presented.
24 February 2011: The World Organsation for Animal Health (OIE) Global Conference on Wildlife, titled "Animal Health and Biodiversity - Preparing for the Future," was held from 23-25 February 2011, in Paris, France.
18 February 2011: The 19th meeting of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Regional Commission for Africa was held from 14-18 February 2011, in Kigali, Rwanda. The meeting focused on technical issues of animal disease control in Africa.
Participants at this meeting will consider the possible establishment of a joint Working Party on Forest Policy and Management as a subsidiary body under the Timber Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the European Forestry Commission of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

24 February 2011: The UN-REDD Programme has released its first five-year strategy for 2011-2015, which provides a road map for increased support to UN-REDD partner countries for activities related to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, including conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+).

23 February 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced two projects aimed at conserving forests and promoting sustainable development in remote rural communities in Latin America and Asia, as the 2011 recipients of the Sasakawa Prize.
22 February 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP)-World Conservation Monitoring Center (WCMC), together with the World Resources Institute (WRI), the Nature Conservancy, the World Fish Center, the International Coral Reef Action Network and the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network, have released a report titled “Reefs at Risk Revisited,” which highlights that 75% of the world's coral reefs are currently threatened by local and global pressures.
