22 March 2013: This year's edition of World Water Day, celebrated on 22 March, was organized around the theme of water cooperation and within the framework of the International Year of Water Cooperation. The Day's celebrations were coordinated by UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in collaboration with the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), for UN-Water.

UN-Water has called upon the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to lead the International Year. The 2013 World Water Day, marked on 22 March, also will be dedicated to water cooperation.

ECLAC, UN-Water Release Report on Water and Green Economy in LAC [viewed]

The report draws on presentations and discussions held during the LAC sessions of the International Conference "Water in the Green Economy in Practice: Towards Rio+20," held from 3-5 October 2011, in Zaragoza, Spain.
