World Environment Day Celebrations Focus on Reducing “Foodprints” [viewed]

Event: First Africa Food Security Conference [viewed]

This conference will be held around the theme 'Harnessing Ecosystem Based Approaches for Food Security and Adaptation to Climate Change in Africa'. It is convened by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and other UN agencies, governments, research institution, NGOs, scholars, donors, and local governments. The event will consist of a combination of plenary and panel group discussions, which will provide a platform for participants to interact and learn about the latest ideas and practices in harnessing ecosystems services for food security and climate change adaptation.

Event: IPBES LAC Regional Consultation Meeting [viewed]

This Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) meeting is co-hosted by the Regional Office For Latin America and the Caribbean of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The objectives of the meeting are to: strengthen and focus regional inputs to the IPBES Work Programme 2014-2018; strengthen regional participation in the IBPES intersessional process on other elements of the Platform; develop an active network of institutions contributing to IPBES work and related capacity building in Latin America and the Caribbean; and identify possible partnerships between Institutions and/or Governments to strengthen sub-regional and regional biodiversity and ecosystems services assessments, as well as knowledge generation, within the IPBES framework.

UNEP Launches Global Sustainable Consumption and Production Clearinghouse [viewed]
