Event: High-Level Consultation on Food and Nutrition [viewed]
As part of the Post-2015 Development Agenda Global Thematic Consultations, this High-Level Leadership Meeting will bring together Member States, non-governmental organizations and civil society to discuss and agree on an agenda on hunger, food security and nutrition for the Post-2015 Development Framework in Madrid, Spain in early April 2013. This consultation is co-led by FAO and WFP, and co-hosted by the Governments of Spain and Colombia.
16 October 2012: The UN celebrated World Food Day on 16 October under the theme of “Agricultural Cooperatives: Key to Feeding the World,” drawing inspiration from the observance of the 2012 International Year of Cooperatives.
21 May 2012: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) has reported on progress achieved in the reforestation of the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic under a project titled Green Border, implemented by UNDP in partnership with the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the World Food Programme (WFP). 
August 2011: Luc Gnacadja, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), recently visited the Dominican Republic and its flagship national program called the Quisqeya Verde Program.
23 June 2011: The first meeting of the G20 Agriculture Ministers concluded with the adoption of an Agriculture Ministerial Declaration and Action Plan on Food Price Volatility and Agriculture that supports initiatives on food production and information exchange, including the International Research Initiative for Wheat Improvement (IRIWI), the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS), and the Global Agricultural Geo-Monitoring Initiative (GAGI).
