13 March 2013: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) have released the proceedings of a workshop held in 2012 on "Priority adaptations to climate change for Pacific fisheries and aquaculture: reducing risks and capitalizing on opportunities."
20 March 2013: The Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar Convention) has reported that the Government of Mali has designated three Ramsar Sites, bringing the total number of sites for this country to four, covering over four million hectares.
Organized by the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR), this technical workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of the National Programmes on Plant Genetic Resources in Latin America (CAP-FITOGEN). The workshop will: contribute to the improvement of skills and capacity of the technical staff in the area of conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture; promote the use and adoption of several data management tools adapted to the needs of the national programmes of the region; and gather information on the need to further develop new tools within the framework of the Global Information System on Plant Genetic Resources.

11 March 2013: As part of an assessment on livelihood systems for an "Agroforestry and Forestry in Sulawesi" project, the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) has published "Gender, livelihood and land in South and Southeast Sulawesi," which identifies key challenges to the effective participation of women in land-use management.
8 March 2013: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has circulated two proposed amendments to the Rules of Procedure of its Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA), to be considered during the CGRFA's fourteenth session, to be held from 15-19 April 2013, at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
The Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on the Funding Strategy of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) will continue developing advice for the ITPGR Governing Body on: resource mobilization efforts; the operation of the Benefit-sharing Fund; monitoring of implementation of the Funding Strategy; and ways to make the Committee operations as cost-effective as possible.

March 2013: The March Newsletter from the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) describes ICARDA's efforts to encourage long-term salinity management investments in Iraq's agriculture sector, micronutrient research in lentils, conservation farming in Iraq, and training on characterizing goat and sheep diversity for conservation and sustainable use in Ethiopia.
March 2013: A global strategy document on the conservation of genetic diversity and the sustainable use of cacao has been coordinated by CacaoNet and released by Bioversity International.
