CTI Paper Outlines Strategic Links With Rio+20 Themes [viewed]

4 July 2012: The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) has produced a white paper arguing that strategies to achieve CTI objectives also have been effective in achieving commitments from the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED, or Rio Earth Summit), and now offer an opportunity to deliver on new emerging priorities from the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

UNEP, EU Committee of the Regions Sign MoU on Sustainable Cities [viewed]

UNEP22 June 2012: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the EU's Committee of the Regions (CoR). The MoU seeks to strengthen the role of local and regional authorities within the policy decision-making process, and emphasizes the importance of placing sustainable cities at the heart of the global strategy on sustainable development.
