UNEP-WCMC Briefing Notes Address Biodiversity in Rio+20 Outcomes [viewed]

24 May 2012: The UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) has released four briefing notes describing its contributions to implementing outcomes on biodiversity and ecosystem services under Agenda 21, the Rio Conventions and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI). The notes further offer ways for UNEP-WCMC to contribute to the development and delivery of the outcomes of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

St. Kitts and Nevis Joins UNESCO's MAB Programme [viewed]

UNESCO23 May 2012: The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has reported that Saint Kitts and Nevis has become the first English Caribbean country to launch its Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme. The MAB Programme is dedicated to the sustainable development and management of an area of significant biodiversity and cultural conservation, sustainable development capacity building and information sharing.

CBD WGRI 4 Forwards Eight Recommendations to COP 11, Message to UNCSD [viewed]

13 May 2012: The fourth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on the Review of Implementation (WGRI 4) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which met in Montreal, Canada, from 7-11 May 2012, adopted eight recommendations that will be submitted to the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 11) to the CBD, including a message to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
