The Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) is an intergovernmental treaty dedicated to the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their habitats across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Greenland and the Canadian Archipelago. The ninth meeting of the Standing Committee for AEWA will take place from 18-20 September in Trondheim, Norway, and will be hosted by the Norwegian Directorate for Nature Management. AEWA was developed under the framework of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), which is administered by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

Organized by the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR), this technical workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of the National Programmes on Plant Genetic Resources in Latin America (CAP-FITOGEN). The workshop will: contribute to the improvement of skills and capacity of the technical staff in the area of conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture; promote the use and adoption of several data management tools adapted to the needs of the national programmes of the region; and gather information on the need to further develop new tools within the framework of the Global Information System on Plant Genetic Resources.
