26 March 2012: The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) has announced that the Government of Serbia has designated Koviljsko-Petrovaradinski Rit, a Special Nature Reserve, as its tenth Wetland of International Importance.
21 March 2012: The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) has reported on the successful conclusion of a project that aimed to develop a framework for an integrated management plan of Lake Chilika, the largest coastal lagoon on the east coast of India in the state of Orissa. The Lake is a designated Ramsar site since 1981.
20 March 2012: The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has announced it will carry out an Environmental Performance Review (EPR) of Morocco, at the request of the Moroccan Government. The review will focus on air pollution, water and waste management, and biodiversity and protected areas, among other issues.
