ECCAS Countries Adopt Plan to Protect Elephants in Cameroon, Chad and Central African Republic [viewed]

23 March 2013: Ministers of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) representing ministries of foreign affairs, defense and security issues, regional integration and wildlife protection convened an emergency meeting in Yaoundé, Cameroon and adopted an emergency anti-poaching plan (PEXULAB) to protect elephants in ECCAS countries.

Event: Second Global Soil Week 2013 [viewed]

This event, which will convene under the theme 'Losing Ground?' is organized by the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Germany. It will bring together practitioners, policy makers, scientists and representatives from civil society organizations to share knowledge and experience on soil and land related issues and to make plans to advance the global agenda for sustainable development. HLCP Chair Calls for Nominations to Oceans Compact [viewed]

2 April 2013: The Chair of the High Level Committee on Programmes (HLCP), UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB), Achim Steiner, on behalf of the UN Secretary-General, has invited UN Member States and Specialized Agencies to submit names for possible nomination to the Ocean Compact Advisory Group (OCAG), and specified selection criteria. The call is open until 15 April 2013.
