24 June 2011: The Fourth Intergovernmental Meeting on the Establishment of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFAC) noted the entry into force of the Agreement on the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission on 3 December 2010, and, as the Second Session of the Preparatory Meeting, finalized and made progress on most required documentation for the Inaugural Meeting of the Commission.

24 June 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) has reported that the Government of Norway has designated 14 new Wetlands of International Importance, bringing its total number of sites on the Ramsar List to 51. All 14 sites are protected under national law as nature reserves, national parks or protected landscapes.

23 June 2011: The number of signatories to the Convention on Biological Diversity's (CBD) Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (ABS) has reached 37, following recent signatures by Gabon, Mauritania and Ghana, as well as by the European Union (EU) and 12 of its member States.

21 June 2011: The Environment Council of the EU adopted conclusions on the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020 on 21 June 2011. The Council endorsed the proposal made by the European Commission in May 2011, while emphasizing the need to further discuss its actions, and recognized the importance of effective monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

16 June 2011: During the FOREST EUROPE Ministerial Conference, held in Oslo, Norway from 14-16 June 2011, ministers adopted a Mandate for Negotiating a Legally Binding Agreement (LBA) on Forests in Europe. Ministers also adopted a decision outlining a shared vision, goals and targets for 2020 for European forests.
